House of mezcal
TOBA is a project that engages visitors in the ancestral production of Zapotec mezcal, communicating the importance of this beverage in Oaxacan culture. The architecture captures the significance of that centuries-old cultural connection with mezcal production — the concept of toba governs the design and layout of the building. A radial structure was chosen, with the main oven in the center and a skylight of the same dimensions located just above it, making the oven the focal point.
